The Budget 2012 proposes to reduce the value of the Treatment Benefit Scheme from €760 to €500 per hearing aid. The reduction will become effective from Jan 1st, which leaves some time for any qualifying person seeking a hearing aid to apply in 2011 and avail of the higher benefit scheme.
