ISHAA is the state recognised professional association of hearing aid audiologists working within the private sector in the Republic of Ireland.
The Irish Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists, established in 1987, represents approximately 90 hearing aid audiologists from over 40 practices within the Republic of Ireland. The Society is not directly involved in commercial matters and is made up exclusively of professionals qualified in Audiology and Hearing Aid Audiology. The current President is Doctor Sandra Cummings, of the Beacon Private Clinic in Dublin.
The ISHAA Council meets with the Department of Social and Family Affairs with regard to the Treatments Benefit Scheme. Operated by the DSFA, the scheme provides hearing aids for private clients and their dependent spouses with full PRSI cover throughout the Republic of Ireland.
