RIC, BTE and OTE Hearing Aids

Receiver In Canal, Behind The Ear and Over The Ear hearing aids hold their components in a slim plastic casing which sits on the back of the outer ear. A clear plastic tube carries digitally amplified sounds in to the ear canal through a receiver or custom made ear-mould. These types may be well-suited to those who have usually worn an older hearing aid around the back of the ear, rather than inside it, but would prefer something slimmer and lighter. The shape and position of the casing can offer extra features like Sweep technology and increased water resistance as seen in S Series hearing aids. These days this type of hearing aid can be colour coded to match your hair colour so as to camouflage the unit.
